Warnings

They warned me about you 

But I believed you were different 

I saw a different man with love so pure in you

 I fought for you 

I didn't listen to others 

I trusted you with my heart 

But in the end, their words held true, 

You shattered my trust, 

You humiliated me, 

I am now a joke to others to whom I said you were different

 Now I regret, with a heavy heart,

 Ignoring warnings from the start. 

I wish I'd listened, heeded their pleas, 

And saved myself from this agony.

I chose to stay silent

When you said you didn't want me

When you told others it was my fault

When you lied

I chose to stay silent

When my heart was in pieces

I chose to stay silent 

When you told others you played me

I chose to stay silent

I always stayed silent. 

For I loved you, deeply, unconditionally. 

I could not bear to see you in the same agony as I had been in. 

So, I swallowed my pain and buried my anger about the truth 

Because my silence is a testament for all the love I hold for you, 

Deep in my heart.
